The action performed by members of the Iranian Communist Partyand the Organization Against Violence on Women in Iran took placein the center of the Swedish capital, Stockholm on Sunday, and wasdedicated to International Women’s Day, which is celebrated onMarch 8.The women painted their bodies with slogans such as “Mynudity is my protest” and “No to hijab” and displayedpictures from anti-Islamic demonstrations by FEMEN.The topless photos from Stockholm first appeared on FEMEN’sofficial website, with members of the “sextremist” movementexpressing their confidence that “in the historical battle ‘womanv. Islam’ women will win!”The Ukrainian topless protesters have recently teamed up withEgyptian activist, Alia Al Mahdi, to attract public attention to“the threat of Islamization of the Egyptian constitution and theintroduction of [Mohamed] Morsi's Shariah Law”, with the actionbeing staged in front of the Egyptian embassy in the Swedishcapital.The FEMEN activists have become famous for organizing toplessprotests at major international public events in differentcountries against sex tourism, religious institutions,international marriage agencies, sexism and other social andinternational issues.
